People have asked me what I do to prepare for an upcoming wedding photo shoot. Wedding photography is my passion so naturally, there is an enormous amount of work I put into creating absolutely the best photos that I can for your wedding! If I didn't I would not feel comfortable calling myself a professional wedding photographer. So it all begins with a consultation with the engaged couple. I find out what style of wedding they are having (will it be a classic wedding, more modern, or perhaps something else); the location, time of year, and time of day (these give me an idea of what lighting conditions will be like); the general schedule for the wedding, when and where the reception will be, and if the couple has set aside specific time for portraits; how many people will be attending, what relatives will be there, and where they will be sitting (as well as where the bride and groom will be sitting); and what the bride's and bride's maids dresses look like (it make a difference in how I set up my photo shots). I will also discuss with the couple in our consultation if they want any specific types of photos, such as beach wedding photography.

After this, I visit the location to find all the right angles for the photos I will take, learn about the lighting conditions so I can choose just the right equipment and lenses for the wedding and get a feel about how my photo taking activities will fit with the schedule. After this, I plan, given the wedding schedule, the best times for bride and groom portraits, family portraits, action shots (taken of you and your guests while you celebrate), and of course the ceremony itself. In a follow-up consultation with you before the wedding, we will discuss my plans for photographing your wedding and you can voice any concerns you have, make suggestions, or discuss anything that may have been left out. Then everything will be ready for photography of your wedding! I'll be there bright and early ready to create photos that you and your children and family will cherish forever!
