Art of colors in a wedding photography

Today I would like to talk a little about the color in your photographs. Believe it or not the color scheme a wedding photographer chooses to capture in your portraits can make as much difference as the background, the wedding dress, your smiling faces, and the lighting. We know from basic art class about the warm colors, cool colors, and the winter, spring, summer, and autumn colors. Using these combinations can also be used in photography to convey feeling! In the end, your portraits can be made more memorable because of the feelings the colors bring! When I can, I select the color schemes in my photography carefully to enhance the feelings and expressions of the bride and groom. Here are three examples about how I accomplish this.

In the first example of a wedding portrait, I used a very earthy color scheme with delicious browns, subtle greens, fluffy whites, and tans. Combined with the groom's suit, the bride's gorgeous gown, and their beautiful expressions, these colors produce a very classical look to their portrait giving it the feeling of eternal love!

I used a strong, vibrant green background in the second example of a wedding portrait to match the powerful expressions of love of the bride and groom in the photo. This spring color choice brings out the bride's eyes, hair, dress and skin tones, while matching the intensity of the groom's suit. Together, it conveys a feeling of intense, strong and vibrant love!

Finally, in the bride portrait above, I used a combination of yellow and golden hues by using just the right background during sunset. This complements the bride's beautiful, happy smile. Also, it matches her bouquet, her dress, and contrasts with her hair and eyes. Altogether the colors give you a warm and happy feeling; it's exactly the feeling you might imagine that the bride has during her wedding!
